At Airo, we ensure that each flight lasts about an hour. Since the preparation, briefing, balloon setup, and the return trip to the starting point are also part of the experience, you can expect a total activity of about three to four hours.

We recommend booking in advance, especially during busy periods. This way, you have more choice of available dates and we can optimally schedule your balloon flight. Sometimes there are also last-minute spots available in a shared basket.

Wear comfortable clothing that is appropriate for the season. Sturdy, closed shoes are recommended, as we take off and land in a field. High heels or open shoes are best left at home.

Many people expect it to be much colder at altitude, but it usually isn't. During the flight, you move with the wind, so you hardly feel any draft. Dress as you would for a walk at the same time of day.

After landing, the balloon is packed up together and we traditionally conclude the experience with a cozy champagne toast. The perfect moment to reminisce about an unforgettable flight.

Our ground crew follows the balloon throughout the flight and is ready to pick you up after landing. We can arrange transportation back to the takeoff location. Of course, it is also possible for friends or family to follow the hot air balloon to the landing site, which is always an adventure.

Hot air balloon flights usually take place during the calmest moments of the day. In summer, this is often early in the morning or later in the evening. During the winter months, flights during the day are also possible, although this is rather exceptional.

The exact altitude depends on the weather conditions and the route of the flight. Sometimes we float low over the landscape, while at other times we sail several hundred meters higher for an impressive view. That completely depends on the wind direction and wind speed on the day of the flight. On average, we cover a distance of several tens of kilometers during a hot air balloon flight.

Airo organizes hot air balloon flights in the provinces of West Flanders and Hainaut. We fly over historic cities such as Bruges, Ypres, and Kortrijk, but we also head to Tournai and the Pays des Collines. The exact take-off location is determined based on the weather conditions and wind direction, so we can always guarantee a safe and pleasant flight. Of course, we also take into account the sights along the route.

A hot air balloon follows the direction of the wind. Therefore, the landing site is never predetermined. Our pilot chooses a suitable location to land safely during the flight. In any case, we ensure transportation back to the take-off location.

Yes, hot air ballooning is possible in every season. Each time of year has its own charm. As long as the weather conditions are safe, flights can take place. In the warm spring and summer months, however, more flights occur because the demand is greater and the weather conditions are more suitable.

Many people with a fear of heights experience little to no fear during a hot air balloon flight. Because the balloon moves silently and there is no direct contact with the ground, it feels different than, for example, being on a ladder or a tall building. Are you in doubt? Feel free to contact us.

Children are certainly welcome on board. It is important that they are tall enough to safely look over the edge of the basket and understand the pilot's instructions. A minimum age of six years is often recommended.

The price of a balloon flight depends on the chosen formula. For a spot in a shared balloon, you pay €175 per person for one or two passengers. From three people, you enjoy a more favorable rate, which drops to €150 per person from eleven participants.

Do you choose an exclusive private flight? Then the price is €900 for a private flight with two people, €1,200 for a private basket for up to six people, and €1,800 for a private basket for up to twelve people.

Absolutely. A balloon flight is an original gift for young and old. Through our website, you can easily purchase a gift voucher for a balloon flight or an amount of your choice.

Safety always comes first. If the weather conditions are not favorable enough, the flight will be moved to a new date. The final decision is usually made in the afternoon of the balloon flight and not earlier. In case of cancellation of the flight, your voucher remains valid and you can freely choose a new date on the planning site.

That depends on the moment of cancellation and the circumstances. Up to 48 hours before the flight, you can still adjust the booking. In the last 48 hours, you can no longer change or cancel the flight. Last-minute cancellations or 'no-shows' will result in the voucher being voided.
